It’s time to say goodbye to April. Most of us will be happy to see it in the rear-view mirror. Here’s hoping May brings much better things to our world. This is a start:
One of the biggest events of the year thus far is Friday at SaskTel Centre: The Humboldt Broncos Tribute Concert. A who’s who of Canadian musical talent will be accompanied by various hockey personalities in what should be a very touching evening. The event starts at 7:30, but be sure to get there early.
Our Saskatchewan Rush are finally back in town. They play the Calgary Roughnecks on Saturday night at SaskTel Centre. Game-time is 7:30 p.m.
If jazz is your bag, baby, head to Broadway Theatre on Saturday night when the Saskatoon Jazz Orchestra plays the music of Stan Getz. Showtime is 7:30 p.m.
It’s free admission this weekend to the 2018 Saskatoon Gem and Mineral Show at the German Cultural Centre. It’s open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Rock on!
Finally, with wonderful weather expected all weekend, might we suggest a visit to the Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park and Zoo? The grizzlies have awoken from their winter slumber and other animals are thriving in the spring sunlight. It’ll be a great place for a walk this weekend.
