Can you feel it? The spirit of Christmas is upon us. No, really, it is. Here’s some ideas to help you get into the holiday season:
— Handel’s Messiah is a timeless classic and should be seen and heard. This year, the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra marks the 105th performance of this masterpiece in Saskatoon on Friday night at Knox United Church. The performance begins at 7:30 p.m.
— On Saturday, head to Etsy’s SK Holiday Market at Station 20 West from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This might be your last chance to find something special for someone special with unique handmade gifts.
— Boney M. featuring Liz Mitchell takes to the stage at TCU Place for two shows on Saturday. Known for its take on Mary’s Boy Child, Boney M. has been a mainstay of contemporary Christmas music for decades. Of course, they’re also known for other hits like Rasputin. The first show is 3 p.m. followed by a later one at 7:30 p.m. It will be fun.
— Perhaps a little Christmas drama is more your thing this weekend. Lux Radio Theatre is performing Miracle on 34th Street just north of the city at the Barn Playhouse. If you are not acquainted with this play, now might be the right time. It’ll be worth the drive.
— Finally, how about a short drive down Valley Road to The Berry Barn? Its indoor Christmas light display will dazzle people of all ages. It’s open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
