With a warm winter weekend ahead, here are a few options to occupy your time.
Get your clan together and head to the annual Robbie Burns supper to be held Saturday night at the Gordie Howe Sports Centre on Avenue P South. Besides eating haggis and drinking scotch, there are other fun things planned for the evening. Email robbieburnsnight@sasktel.net to get information and buy tickets.
If brass is your bag, local trumpeter Guy Few returns to town for a performance with the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra on Saturday night. The TCU Place event starts at 7:30 p.m.
Crokicurl has arrived in Saskatoon. For the uninitiated, it combines two iconic Canadian pastimes: Crokinole and curling. The Broadway Business Improvement District has it set up in the cul-de-sac outside the Broadway Roastery. It’s open to the public this weekend from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Organizers hope weather will keep it alive until the end of February.
Speaking of the Broadway area, Winterruption has also arrived, providing concerts for music lovers of many genres as well as plenty of other family activities. Take a look at the event’s Facebook page for all the details.
Why not kick off the weekend tonight with our Saskatchewan Rush playing the Buffalo Bandits? Besides watching great lacrosse action, it’s also a ball of fun. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
